February 22, 2018 Monthly Meeting will move to March 1, 2018
Our E-Board decided to move our meeting from Feb 22 to March 1 to accommodate the Gubernatorial Debate. We believe this is an important event and we received feedback from several members they will be attending. Purchase your tickets here –> Gubernatorial Debate
Veterans for Peace will join us at our March 1 meeting. Jack Doxey who served in the Korean war in 1952 will present to us an overview of this organization. It’ll be an great opportunity to learn about Veterans for Peace and the work they do.
We will also have a speaker to provide an analysis of the CD 49 race. In addition we will address club business. And of course, we’ll have a few candidates stop by to introduce themselves to our club.

Meeting Room
Our meeting room can ideally accommodate 40 people. The librarian has gone above & beyond to support are crowded meetings and we are fortunate to have her support. The attendee list on eventbrite is capped at 60. Typically only 1/2 that RSVP show up to the meeting. RSVP is optional but does help us plan for the meeting. If you RSVP via eventbrite and there are no longer spots, please come to the meeting anyway. It’s been a challenge finding a bigger meeting space at a reasonable price. We welcome any help from members that can help us find & coordinate a bigger meeting space. Our priority is to be able to hold meetings without a fee.
2018 California Democrats State Convention Feb 23-25
The California Democrats are holding their state convention Feb 23-25. Several of us are volunteering at the event as this is an excellent opportunity to see the party in action.
San Diego County Democrats
Our E-board stays informed with the SD County Democrats by joining two monthly meetings. One is the council of the clubs that brings together the chartered club presidents/representatives. The other meeting is the North Area Caucus meeting. Check out the calendar from the San Diego County Dem Clubs for the meeting details. If you’re interested in joining the meetings, contact Diana. These meetings keep us informed of all the happenings of the SD county Dems and helps us to learn from other clubs.
