Happy May Day! We hope you and your family are well.

We had an excellent meeting with our Congressman, Mike Levin via Zoom last week.

We had a few candidate statements from :
Joe La Cava – San Diego City Council District 1 (Joe is a TPDC member &  has been endorsed by our club members)

Tim Nader – San Diego Superior Court Judge – Seat 30 (Tim is a TPDC member & has been endorsed by our club members).

Please consider supporting our club endorsed candidates in any way possible such as volunteering for their campaign or monetary donations if possible.

Sign up to join volunteers throughout San Diego County for a phonebank to check on our senior neighbors during the COVID-19 pandemic. You’ll need your own phone and a computer or other internet-connected device.

 THIS SATURDAY (TOMORROW), MAY 2. 
Congressmember Mike Levin would like to invite us to join him, and communities from across the 49th District, for a Virtual Frontline Worker Appreciation Solidarity Event this Saturday, May 2nd at 12:30pm.

Let’s join together (virtually) to show support and gratitude for our amazing healthcare workers, law enforcement officers, fire fighters, delivery and grocery store workers, and all the other essential heroes who are risking their lives every day to keep us safe during this crisis.

Virtual Meeting

Speaker: Dr. Casey Dominguez, Associate Professor
Department of Political Science, University of San Diego

Dr. Dominguez’s current research projects focus on political parties, campaign finance, and the presidency. Her major project concerns the development of the war powers of the president. Dr. Dominguez received her B.A., M.A., and Ph.D. in Political Science at the University of California, Berkeley (Go Bears!). As an undergraduate she was an intern at the White House and in the California State Assembly. She’s published articles on presidential elections, the presidential honeymoonendorsements in primary elections, and the relationships between political parties and interest groups. Her current research projects focus on the relationships between political parties and interest groups and on presidential war power.
